Places to buy Real Estate in Costa Rica
There are multiple places to buy real estate in Costa Rica. This country is a small, petite country located in the isthmus between the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Lying in the tropical region, it is blessed with a moderate climate throughout the year which is well suited for people from any part of the world.
There are two specific climates. Verano meaning summer in English lasts between November and May and Invierno meaning winter in English lasts between May and November. The amount of rainfall increases in winter, though, the temperate is more-or-less moderate throughout the year. In this article, we list out the top 6 spots and understand why they are famous.
Option 1: Santa Teresa is a way-out beach side village famous for its laid back hippie vibe. This place has some lovely white sand beaches. It has a pleasant climate throughout the year with rainfall prevalent during the winter months. A lot of beach homes here are owned by a large chunk of foreign population who are among the wealthy in society. Hence, this place is also multicultural. Entertainment is also aplenty in this small beach side village which makes it a hot favorite for investors.
Option 2: Malpais is small village close to Santa Teresa. This place is also considered as surfers paradise. The waves are strong here and hence suited for surfing. This place has a tranquil atmosphere with nature relatively untouched. This place also has some eccentric volcanic formations which create breathtakingly beautiful scenery. If you are looking at investing in beach front homes which offer you privacy and peaceful living, then, Malpais comes highly recommended.
Spot 3: Playa Hermosa follows third. The beaches of Playa Hermosa are covered with white sand and are broad and long. The waves of the beaches here are strong too and hence, this place is also a hotspot for surfers. This place is the first option for people who intend to move with their families, however, not a lot of beach front properties here come up for sale easily since they are mostly occupied by gringos (foreigners) who dont intend on selling it.
Option 4: Montezuma is also small fishing village with a laidback lifestyle which is a top spot for investors. This place has a gradually growing international population. The white sand beaches of Montezuma are magnificent and considered the safest. The temperature is also very pleasant throughout the year.
Option 5: Tambor is a laidback town located in the Nicoya peninsula. It is also called the Whale Bay because a large number of whales migrate to this place to mate and give birth. It has beaches which are lovely and long and filled with white sand. These are ideal for diving, swimming and snorkeling since they are well protected from ocean swells. This place is becoming increasingly popular among the ticos (localites) and gringos (foreigners).
Option 6: Cabuya: Cabuya is home to some amazingly lovely waterfalls and lush greenery. This is a town close to the village of Montezuma. This place which was initially populated by ticos is now gaining prominence among the gringos too. Cabuya has some lovely beaches which are again best suited for surfing and it is gaining prominence due to its tranquil surroundings which is filled with ethereal beauty.
